Livingston boss David Martindale hopeful long lay-off won't impact performance against St Mirren

Livingston boss David Martindale is hoping his side's lengthy lay-off won't see the positive momentum they built up fizzle away in Paisley.

The Lions are back in action tomorrow against St Mirren having last featured on October 30 when they drew 0-0 at Celtic Park.

Livi had gone four games unbeaten before the break and Martindale is hopeful the time off won’t have had an impact.

Speaking to the West Lothian Courier, he said: “It feels like it’s been ages since we’ve played and we were on a good run, so you’re hoping to keep the momentum from that and pick up where we left off when we play on Saturday.”

"It’s two football teams who are pretty evenly matched.

“We’ve played twice already. We won the cup game and they won the league game, but if the results had been the other way round I don’t think anyone could have complained.

“Saturday’s game is going to be very difficult. Jim (Goodwin) has got them playing well and he’s got a pretty stable starting line-up. I can imagine there won’t be much in the game."

Livingston go into the clash with both Ben Williamson and Ayo Obileye suspended.
