Livingston boss David Martindale 'delighted' by loan star Joel Nouble's impact at Arbroath

Livingston boss David Martindale says he's delighted to see the impact loan star Joel Nouble is having at Arbroath.

The striker signed for the Lions in the summer before being immediately sent to the Championship side on loan for the season, with the option of recalling him in January. Martindale cited the need to get regular game time and adapt to the Scottish game.

The 25-year-old former Aldershot man starred for the Red Litchies in their 3-1 victory over Partick Thistle at the weekend, providing a wonderful assist to Michael McKenna while he's found the net twice in his six games for the club.

Martindale said: "Joel's gone up to Arbroath and is doing exactly what we were hoping he'd do. He's been impressive and is getting the game time in to get used to Scottish football. His performances are what we want to see from him.

"The option is there for us to recall him in January and he'd be like a new signing if we brought him in. We wouldn't want to pull the rug from under Arbroath's feet but obviously we need to put Livingston first."

Martindale also provided an update on Gavin Reilly with the striker still at the club despite being available for a loan move. The gaffer says that despite numerous enquiries, no acceptable offer has yet been made.

He said: "There's been three or four clubs who have made enquiries about Gav but there's not been an offer yet that's matched what we're after.

"Once there is, we'll approach Gav about it and see if it's a move he'd be wanting to make."
