Livingetc Style Awards 2025 — Accessories

Small in scale but big on impact, the accessories that stood out in 2025 are all about elevating rooms through being the perfect finishing touches. Sculptural shapes, refined materials, true artistry and useful design details help bring a space together.

Best in Class: Light Play rug collection by Deirdre Dyson

Each of the 13 designs in Deirdre Dyson’s new rug collection integrates fine silk in colours that catch the light, shimmering in their beauty. ‘Seeing the way the collection shines was a highlight of this year’s trip to Paris for Maison&Objet In The City in January,’ says Livingetc's deputy editor Ellen Finch.

Best Table Dressing: Summer of Love tablecloth by Les Keepers

Textile designer Pablo Di Francesco’s materials can be adapted for all sorts of commissions – but it’s his abstract fluro tablecloths that stand out. ‘I took mine on holiday with me this year, I love it that much,’ says Livingetc's executive editor Pip Rich.

Best Mirror: Galia by Porta Romana

Don’t be fooled by the hand-worn charm of the ridges in this glazed mirror – it required an extremely complex, fraught and tricky mould to get it just so. But that care only adds to its magnetism. ‘There is so much character in this one piece that it’s totally transformative to a room,’ says Ellen.

Best Design/Art Piece: ClockClock 24 by Kit Kemp Design Studio x Humans since 1982

So much more than just a regular wall clock, this kinetic sculpture fuses analogue and digital elements, the ace changing between each every minute. ‘It’s mesmerising and very beautiful,’ says Livingetc's digital editor Hugh Metcalf.

Best Rug: Sound 1 by Tai Ping

Tai Ping swept our accessories category last year, and now the brand is back with a new host of soothing neutral designs. A standout is the Sound 1, its just-off white tone and raised texture elevating its sumptuous feel. ‘It’s quite breathtaking, and a way to do a patterned rug that only enhances rather than overwhelms,’ says Hugh.

Best accessories collection: Set in Stone by FORMED

The 13 pieces in this collection were all designed for a bathroom, but the cheerful colours of these trays and holders would mostly work anywhere else (though you’ll probably keep the toothbrush mug in the space for which it was intended). ‘Not only are the colours so joyful and mood-boosting, but the shapes and tactility really make this collection sing,’ says Livingetc's group editor-in-chief Sarah Spiteri.

Best Glassware: Sicily vase by Gather Glass

As much an art piece as a vase, each hand-blown Gather Glass vase takes on a playful form. The Sicily vase’s handles are inspired by the region’s Medusa emblem. ‘Its colour and shape evoke a sense of holiday and the joy you get from discovering an artisan,’ says Sarah.

Best tableware collection: Barista by Monoware

Five types of cups in three beguiling neutral colours, the chalky smoothness of each vessel feels particularly good to hold – and after all, sensory design does tell us that tactility can boost taste. ‘I use my cappuccino cup every morning, and it’s never less than totally satisfying,’ says Pip.

Best soft furnishing: Check reversible throw by Johnstons of Elgin

Woven in Scotland by skilled makers, each Johnstons cashmere throw is soft to the touch, warm to wrap around you and comforting to have at easy reach draped over the sofa. ‘This throw is the ultimate in understated – and totally necessary – luxury,’ says Ellen.
