Livi stopper believes Celtic draw 'sums up' a remarkable season

Liam Kelly believes the draw with Celtic ‘sums up’ Livi’s remarkable season.

The Lions have thrived in their first campaign in the top flight for 12 years thanks to a string of impressive results including two draws against the Hoops.

But, while he took the plaudits for a fine display, he admits he’d have been on the receiving end from his team-mates had Olly Burke netted in the third minute of injury-time after the keeper let slip Odsonne Edouard’s effort.

He said: “When you’re playing the best team in the country you don’t expect to get anything, but that just sums up our season.

“They battered us, absolutely battered us – I don’t mind saying that – but our boys tried their hardest.

“I’m proud to be part of this club. The way they’ve conducted themselves in the Premiership this season has been so good. We’ve got good players and you can’t be a bad team if you take points off everybody.

“The boys are doing really well and you’re just delighted to be there every day when you go into work and I think we’re reaping the rewards.

“I was thinking ‘don’t throw it away’.
I was devastated when I saw him (Burke) but I’m delighted he missed.

“The boys were high-fiving me but they’d have been punching me if it went in. I thought he had scored but I think we earned that wee bit of luck.”
