Livi stadium to stage a night of boxing promoting mental health

The Tony Macaroni Arena in Livingston is set to host a special night of boxing in June aimed at promoting mental health awareness.

Assassin Promotions in partnership with D&G Promotion will be hosting their ‘Punching the Stigma: Fighting for Mental Health’ card on June 15.

Lee McAllister will be boxing for a world title with a huge undercard featuring local boxers on the bill.

Promoter David Orr said: “We will be fighting for mental health, this could range across the board from PTSD to anxiety to depression.

“This affects so many people and in different ways. We already have Brothers in Arms on board who help raise awareness of mental health issues within men and we are looking for other local mental health groups to come on board.

“All profits from the sale of our programme on the day will be split between these organisations.”

Tickets are priced at £100 for VIP, £50 for outer ring, £20 for adult arena seats and £10 for under-16 arena seats.

The promoters are still looking for sponsors for the event and anyone wishing to get involved should email David Orr at djorr78@gmail.com.
