Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott sends message to fans after eye-catching debut

Harvey Elliott has sent a message of thanks to Liverpool fans after the 16-year-old made his full debut on Wednesday night.

The former Fulham youngster impressed as the Reds eased past MK Dons with a 2-0 win in the Carabao Cup.

Elliott, who showed incredible generosity to give a young supporter his shirt after the game, took to social media to describe his emotions and thank fans.

"What a night! Fantastic win and a great team performance at a difficult place to go," the winger wrote to Instagram.

"An incredibly proud moment for me and my family to have made my debut for the club I’ve always supported!

"Thanks to all of the Reds for your support."

Ki-Jana Hoever who starred at right-back and scored a header in Liverpool's win commented: "Proud bro".

Meanwhile, Tottenham starlet Ryan Sessegnon, who played alongside Elliott for the Cottagers, wrote: "Congrats lil bro".

Reds legend Ian Rush sent some applauding hands emojis, as ex-Chelsea and Fulham star Andre Schurrle added a similar emoji filled response.

Liverpool will take on Premier League rivals Arsenal in the fourth round of the competition next month.

The fixture, which is set to be played at the end of October, will take place at Anfield.
