Liverpool youngster Curtis Jones sends message to 'little brother' Harvey Elliott after Napoli victory

Liverpool youngster Curtis Jones has appeared to hit-back at reports about him and team-mate Harvey Elliott.

The pair were pictured in a heated exchange during the young Reds’ 7-0 victory against Napoli at the Academy on Wednesday afternoon.

Barry Lewtas’ side were already leading 1-0 when Jones converted a penalty to make it 2-0. But in the immediate aftermath eagle-eyed supporters spotted Jones appearing to tell Elliot to "shut your mouth".

But Jones has been quick to downplay the incident following the game by taking to social media to defuse the whole situation.

He wrote on Twitter: “Unbelievable team performance today with a 7-0 win over Napoli, happy to grab a Hat-Trick and an Assist. Thanks to my little brother for the pass leading to my second!”

Before adding on Instagram: “This my lil bradda, brother always bicker thanks for the assist.”

Goals from Jones (x2), Elijah Dixon-Bonner and Luis Longstaff put the young Reds five goals up after just 27 minutes.

Jones then scored the goal of the game on 52 minutes when his curling effort from the top corner of the net from 20-yards out, before Longstaff completed the scoring just after the hour-mark.

The victory means that Lewtas’ side only need a draw away at Red Bull Salzburg in two weeks time to progress to the last 16.
