Jurgen Klopp had some decisions to make in his forward line for today’s must-win game against Newcastle as Liverpool push for the top four.
Mohammed Salah was left out as Sadio Mane ended his seven-game goal drought against Leeds, but could not prevent the Yorkshire side from earning a deserved point last time out.
Mane was the player to make way the previous week as Aston Villa were beaten, with Salah on the scoresheet. Meanwhile, Diogo Jota has not bagged in four games, but was the matchwinner against Arsenal earlier this month and Wolves in March.
Meanwhile, Roberto Firmino has just one goal in 21 games and, against an improving Newcastle side, could make way for more productive attacking talents. Klopp’s solution is to include all four.
Elsewhere, Curtis Jones returns to the matchday squad, though Nat Phillips has not recovered from a hamstring injury in time.
