Liverpool XI vs Leicester City: Predicted line-up, team news and injury list for Premier League clash

Liverpool will be without the injured Joel Matip again when they face Leicester City at Anfield on today.

The defender has failed to recover from the knock he picked up as the Reds defeated Sheffield United at Bramall Lane last weekend.

He will be joined on the sidelines by forward Xherdan Shaqiri, who is still on his way back from a calf problem sustained in training.

Jurgen Klopp said: "Joel looks good but is not ready for tomorrow, and Shaq not. And [Nathaniel] Clyne not.

“After the international break they are all back on track, apart from Clyney, but until then we have only one game and we have to play without them for that game."

Liverpool’s options have been boosted by the return to fitness of goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who has been in full team training since Thursday.

Klopp now faces a tricky decision over whether to restore the Brazilian to his starting XI, with stand-in Adrian having performed admirably in his absence.

The manager added: "With Alisson, it's still: maybe, maybe not.

"Yesterday he trained with the team [for the first time]. But if you know goalie sessions, they are often pretty more intense than the proper football sessions. He looked really good.

"We will see, I have to talk to different people before I make a decision about that.”

On the possibility of bringing his first-choice shot-stopper back into the fold, he added: “It’s different with goalkeepers, it’s different with Ali, maybe.

“The good thing, Adrian did that well, we don’t feel pressure. We don’t have to rush it or whatever - but we don’t!

“He is training already for maybe 10 days. The little things we can do between the games when we play every three days, we have goalies for that, so it was more important that Ali could do the important stuff at a much higher intensity than it would have been.

“If yesterday would have been the first session for him in training, we would not of course even think about - and I don’t even know if we think about it. I have to talk.

“Mike Gordon is in town so I had a lot of meetings since he’s here, so I couldn’t talk about the goalie situation to anybody.

“But I will do that after the press conference immediately, and then I will call you… or not.”

Liverpool predicted lineup (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Henderson; Salah, Mane, Firmino
