Liverpool are remaining tight-lipped over Mohamed Salah’s prospects of facing Everton this weekend after the forward appeared to miss training on Wednesday.
The Egyptian’s absence from last week’s behind-closed-doors friendly win over Blackburn Rovers was described by club sources as little more than a precautionary measure.
However, fears over his availability for the Reds’ return to Premier League action on Sunday have been further stoked by the latest round of training images from Melwood.
Andy Robertson, who also missed the 6-0 victory over Rovers, looked to have played a full part in Wednesday's session.
The same was also true for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, despite the midfielder having been forced off prematurely against Tony Mowbray’s side with a knock.
But Salah did not appear to join his team-mates, leading to suggestions that he could miss out on a hotly-anticipated visit to Goodison Park.
And Liverpool have thus far refused to comment on the 28-year-old’s fitness, meaning fans will have to wait until Jurgen Klopp’s pre-match press conference for the latest update.
The German will face the media via video link from Melwood on Friday afternoon as he previews the Reds’ first competitive outing since March.
One player who is certain to miss out on that game is Xherdan Shaqiri, who has still not taken part in training since activities resumed last month.
The Swiss’ last outing came in January, when he sustained what was initially described as a minor muscle complaint.
There is also no chance of Nathaniel Clyne featuring in the Liverpool squad to face their old rivals on Sunday.
The defender is in the final stages of his rehabilitation from a serious knee injury but has not been offered the chance to extend his stay at the club until the end of the season.

Possible Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Henderson; Salah, Firmino, Mane
