Liverpool XI vs Everton: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup and latest injuries for Premier League clash

Liverpool have suffered an injury setback after it emerged that Joel Matip will need more time to recover from a knee issue.

The defender has not featured for the Reds since starting their 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford on October 20.

It was hoped that the problem would heal during a short spell on the sidelines for Matip, but he remains some way off from a return.

Asked about the 28-year-old, Jurgen Klopp said: “Joel needs a bit more time.

“It’s healing but it’s not exactly how we wished for, so it needs a bit more time, that will take a while.”

Matip is joined by Fabinho (ankle) and Nathaniel Clyne (knee) on the sidelines for Liverpool, who will also be without goalkeeper Alisson Becker due to suspension this week.

However, Klopp has no fresh injury concerns to contend with ahead of his team taking on Everton at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

The German added: “The long-term injuries are not in but all the others are fit and available.”

Predicted Liverpool XI (4-3-3): Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Salah, Firmino, Mane.
