Liverpool XI vs Brentford: No Thiago - Confirmed lineup, team news, Covid and injuries for Premier League today

Jurgen Klopp makes two changes from the Liverpool team that drew 0-0 with Arsenal in the Carabao Cup for Sunday’s Premier League game against Brentford.

Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain come in in place of Takumi Minamino and James Milner.

There is no place in the squad for Thiago Alcantara, who again misses out.

Liverpool are again without Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, who are both away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

“We had knocks after the Arsenal game but no injuries or Covid cases,” said Klopp. “We played Thursday-Sunday, it is a short break.

“We just want to bring four fresh legs. That is the reason for the change.

“Curtis had a massive impact in the game against Arsenal when he came on and Oxlade is in a really good moment so we have to unleash these boys.”

Liverpool confirmed XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Jones, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jota, Firmino

Subs: Kelleher, Konate, Milner, Gomez, Minamino, Tsimikas, Gordon, Williams, Morton

Brentford confirmed XI: Fernandez, Ajer, Jansson, Pinnock, Roerslev, Janelt, Norgaard, Baptiste, Henry, Mbeumo, Toney

Subs: Lossl, Canos, Jensen, Forss, Wissa, Ghoddos, Bidstrup, Sorensen, Stevens

Referee: Jonathan Moss
