Liverpool XI vs Arsenal: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury and Covid latest for Carabao Cup today

Liverpool welcome back several senior players for tonight’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Arsenal at Anfield.

After their recent Covid-19 outbreak, it’s still not wholly clear as to what sort of team Jurgen Klopp will have available to him, although the sight of a few of the more recognised faces in the squad on show in the FA Cup win over Shrewsbury on Sunday will surely have allayed at least some concerns as to the make-up of the XI.

Indeed, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Andy Robertson all start the game, as do Roberto Firmino and Joel Matip in what is an extremely strong-looking lineup.

Klopp confirmed that only Trent Alexander-Arnold had tested positive during the round of tests to have seen the Arsenal game called off, but the right-back has recovered in time to start at Anfield.

Liverpool starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Milner, Minamino, Firmino, Jota

Subs: Kelleher, Konate, Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Tsimikas, Gordon, Morton, Williams.
