Liverpool women's bomber inquest, dramatic car crash footage and stolen designer coat

Brother of Liverpool Women's bomber begged him 'don't do s***'

Liverpool Women's Hospital bomber Emad Al Swealmeen died from the explosion and fire caused by the improvised device he manufactured with "murderous intent", an inquest heard.

Swealmeen, 32, died when his homemade explosive went off in a Delta taxi outside Liverpool Women’s Hospital shortly before 11am on Remembrance Sunday - not far from a nearby church service attended by hundreds of people at Liverpool Cathedral.

The driver, David Perry, survived the blast, which was captured on hospital CCTV.

Senior coroner Andre Rebello concluded a brief inquest into the death of Iraqi-born Al Swealmeen at Liverpool and Wirral Coroner's Court today.

Driver 'bails' from car after crash before collapsing in street

The aftermath of the crash on Breeze Hill, near Rice Lane, Walton (submit)

Dramatic video footage taken last night showed the aftermath of a car smashing into railings in Walton.

Onlookers can be heard saying the driver "bailed" from the scene of the incident, which left debris strewn across the road.

He was later found collapsed and taken to hospital.

Emergency services descended on the scene shortly before midnight on Wednesday.

Thugs stamp on boy's head and steal his £1,100 Canada Goose coat

The boys were attacked in Williamson Square near St John's shopping centre (Colin Lane)

A teenage boy's head was stamped on by a gang of thugs who forced him to take off and hand over his designer Canada Goose coat.

The 15-year-old was with a group of three friends when thugs approached them in Williamson Square on Boxing Day.

Phil Evenson, the dad of the boy whose head was stamped on, told the ECHO his son "doesn't want to go back to Liverpool" after the attack.

The 33-year-old from New Ferry said: "He doesn't want to go back to Liverpool and I won't let him."
