Liverpool Women player ratings as victory over Bristol City secures Championship title and promotion

Rachael Laws - 8

Had little to do at times, but was there when needed. Wasn’t a lot she could do about City’s equaliser in the first half, but she made a fantastic save with her foot at 1-1 to keep out Beever-Jones. She once again made a fine stop early in the second half in a 1v1 situation.

Rhiannon Roberts - 7

Did well to cut out some dangerous Bristol City chances and won practically every ball she went for. A poor loose pass at 2-1 to allow Abi Harrison in 1v1 with Laws, but a smart stop from the goalkeeper to avert the danger.

Niamh Fahey - 8

A well taken goal from the Liverpool captain and did well to cope with City’s threat.

Jasmine Matthews - 8

A crucial goal at a crucial time shortly before half time to restore Liverpool’s lead.

Leanne Kiernan - 8

Brilliant feet to create some good chances in the early stages of the game. Used her electrifying pace to carve out some good chances, often found herself in a foot race with City’s Satara Murray, but came out on top more often than not. Subbed.

Rachel Furness - 8

Absolutely running the midfield alongside Lawley and Holland. Assisted Stengel’s goal and Liverpool’s third. A few efforts on goal from distance. Subbed.

Melissa Lawley - 7

Held the ball up well and allowed Liverpool to control the game from the centre of the park. A few dangerous crosses into the box, but they were well defended by the hosts. Subbed.

Taylor Hinds - 7

Played a huge part in Liverpool’s threat down the left flank. Combined well with Lawley and Kiernan to get the Reds in behind and ask City’s defence questions.

Ceri Holland - 7

Controlled the game in the middle with Furness and Lawley. Set Liverpool on the attack on numerous occasions as they looked to break on their opponents.

Katie Stengel - 7

A crucial goal on the hour mark to give Liverpool a comfortable two goal cushion heading into the latter stages of the game. Seven goals for the season for the forward. Did well to get to the by-line and cut a cross back into the box for Liverpool’s fourth.

Megan Campbell - 8

Her long throw was a real threat for Liverpool, the first three goals all resulted from the dead ball situation.

Yana Daniels (for Kiernan on 67 minutes) - 7

A brilliant pass on 86 minutes to find the run of substitute Carla Humphrey, who was unlucky not to score.

Charlotte Wardlaw (for Megan Campbell on 67 minutes) - 7

Came on and helped sure things for the Reds in the later stages.

Missy Bo Kearns (for Ceri Holland on 73 minutes) - 8

Came on and scored an important goal in the closing stages of the game. Just as things were getting frantic and end-to-end, Kearns calmed things down for Liverpool by scoring their fourth of the afternoon.

Carla Humphrey (for Rachel Furness on 84 minutes) - 7

Jade Bailey (for Melissa Lawley on 84 minutes) - 7
