Liverpool Women overhaul continues as major new role confirmed

Liverpool are pressing ahead with plans to overhaul their Women's set-up with the appointment of a managing director.

The Reds are advertising for the post as they seek to bring in someone who can help ensure progress on the field is matched off it with a unified vision.

The decision comes after it was announced on Monday that Adam Greaves-Smith will leave his role as general manager of the Women's team at the end of the month.

Liverpool are in the process of restructuring their Women's operation as they aim for promotion back to the Super League having been relegated last year.

Matt Beard returned as manager in May while the team have made seven new signings, with more likely to follow.

The departing Greaves-Smith said: "I’d like to thank my colleagues at LFC for a fantastic experience over the past three years.

“With an upcoming restructure, the timing was right for me personally to explore new challenges. I will be supporting our men’s and women’s teams from afar and wish everyone the very best for the future.”

Liverpool FC Women begin their FA Women's Championship season on Sunday week when they entertain London City.
