Liverpool Women flag up offensive chants during Man United game to FA

Liverpool Women have flagged up offensive chanting during this afternoon's game against Manchester United to the Football Association.

The two teams met in their earlier today.

And chants of 'Always the victims - it's never your fault' along with other offensive remarks from some United supporters were said to be heard at several occasions during the match.

It is understood Liverpool Women highlighted the chanting in their post-match report to draw it to the FA's attention.

It is believed to be the first time the club's women's team have had to flag up issues around chanting of this nature.

As cited in the Telegraph, Liverpool Women's report following the game raised concerns over “a lack of respect to our players and management from Man United supporters”.

The ECHO has contacted the FA for comment.

United Women claimed a 2-0 victory in the tie at Leigh Sports Village this afternoon.

Goals late in the second half from Lauren James and Katie Zelem were enough to secure a win.
