Liverpool have announced that director of communications, Susan Black, has been made an executive of their women's team.
Black will officially start her executive director role on Monday and will be appointed to the board alongside new CEO Billy Hogan and Fenway Sports Group president, Mike Gordon.
The newly-appointed director will juggle the position alongside her current responsibilities and the move is the latest in a series of fresh additions for LFCW.
With manager Vicky Jepson preparing to guide her side back to the Women's Super League at the first time of asking following their relegation last term, as many as four new signings in Taylor Hinds, Amalie Thestrup, Rachael Laws and Meikayla Moore have joined.
“I am honoured to be trusted by Billy and ownership to take the lead on LFC Women and am really looking forward to working with Vicky and the team,” Black told the club's official website.
“It’s been a tough year for Vicky, our players and staff but everyone is focused on the new season now and moving forward. There’s a lot to do and our focus is on providing a supportive and efficient model for LFCW to enable the team to focus on playing winning football.
“The women’s game is one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK and we will be working closely with our fans, local communities, club staff, regulatory bodies and others to ensure short term we strengthen our existing operating model and focus on building a strong future.”
FSG president Mike Gordon added: "LFC Women is an exceptionally important team within the football club alongside the first team and our young Academy teams.
“John [Henry], Tom [Werner] and I are thrilled that Susan has agreed to take on the leadership of this organisation and we hope they can have a successful season and return to the WSL at the first attempt.”
