Liverpool winger Bobby Adekanye has not signed Lazio deal, insist Serie A club

Liverpool winger Bobby Adekanye has neither signed a contract nor even started negotiations over a potential move to Lazio, according to the Italian club.

Nigeria-born Netherlands youth international Adekanye, who joined Liverpool from Barcelona in 2015, has been linked with Lazio in the last few days.

However, the Serie A club released an official statement on their official website on Monday denying that they have approached the 19-year-old, and have not been negotiating a deal with the winger.

The statement read: "In reference to the news released by some media, according to which SS Lazio have found an agreement with the player Bobby Adekanye, the club denies this and announces that it has not signed any contract, nor has it started negotiations for the aforementioned player."

Adekanye has shone for Liverpool's Under-19s and Under-23s but has not made a first-team appearance.

The player was not included in Jurgen Klopp's 18-man FA Cup squad to face Wolves on Monday night, while academy starlets Rafael Camacho and Curtis Jones were both handed competitive debuts.
