Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that his side will not be signing Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne this summer.
The forward is poised to leave his boyhood club at the end of the season, and has been heavily linked with a transfer to the Reds .
But speaking in his pre-match press conference to preview his side's game against Huddersfield on Friday night, the German confirmed that Italian international will not be joining his side - and also played down the prospect of a summer spending spree.
“We will not sign Lorenzo Insigne,” Klopp told reporters at the club's Melwood training ground.
“He is a very good player but he has a long-term contract at Napoli.
“We will not even try it.
”Will it be the biggest transfer window for Liverpool ? No."

The Reds slipped down to second in the Premier League table on Wednesday night after Manchester City claimed a 2-0 win over Manchester United - but it was a result that Klopp expected.
“It was really the result I expected," the German said.
“ United tried whatever they can, in the first half especially, but in the 95 minutes it was clear they can’t stand City in the moment.
"They were unlucky in moments but then they couldn't stand City.”
