Liverpool Wetherspoons staff prepare beer gardens to reopen on April 12

Pub chain Wetherspoon will reopen almost 400 of its pubs on Monday as the country continues to ease lockdown restrictions.

Wetherspoon will reopen many of its beer gardens, rooftop gardens and patios when pubs and restaurants are allowed to open for outdoor services.

Among those reopening are 13 Merseyside pubs, which will offer a slightly reduced menu, with food available from 9am to 8pm seven days a week.

Ahead of the big day, which will also see non-essential retailers and personal care facilities open, we've taken a look as staff prepare Liverpool venues to swing open their doors.

Staff at Huyton's The Barker's Brewery have been spotted setting up its outdoor seating area, adding extra seating and spacing tables out.

Managers at The Frank Hornby in Maghull have been busy preparing its beer garden, cleaning up tables, watering plants and getting its tables ready for visitors on Monday.

Wetherspoon pubs reopening on April 12 will open from 9am to 9pm from Sunday to Thursday and 9am to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays, although some will have restrictions on closing times.
