Liverpool weather to hit 20 degrees as people urged to stay at home

Liverpool is set to bask in warm sunshine tomorrow, with temperatures set to hit 20 degrees.

Spring is certainly here, with gorgeous weather predicted all day, but people are being urged to stay at home as the lockdown continues.

The Met Office forecast for Merseyside tomorrow says: "After another cool start, tomorrow will be another fine and mostly sunny day. It will become warm by the afternoon. There will be a gentle to moderate easterly breeze."

The weather will be welcomed by those who have gardens and outside space, with others getting to enjoy the lovely weather during their daily exercise time.

The Government praised the actions of the public over the Easter weekend, as many people stayed inside, despite the sunny weather.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said: "At the end of last week we were concerned people might start ignoring the advice or cutting corners.

"But in fact the overwhelming majority of people stayed at home and realised the importance of doing so.

"If we let up now the virus will only take advantage, spread faster and kill more people. Our plan is working. Please stick with it and we will get through this crisis together."

The weather is set to turn again come the weekend, with cloudier skies and lower temperatures.

The forecast said: "Friday will be dry with sunny spells in the morning period. As the afternoon progresses, it will turn cloudier with showers pushing in from the south, accompanied by brisk winds. It will be cooler.

"There will be a few showers on Saturday. Later in the afternoon, further heavy rain will push in from the south. Breezy. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with patchy rain possible."
