Liverpool weather sees strong winds and rain forecast

It is set to be a showery day across Merseyside but there will be some sunny spells.

Between sunny spells however, the Met Office reports some bands of rain will be heavy with possible hail and thunder. Forecasters say the chances of hail and thunder will be in the afternoon, with a risk of gales also.

Temperatures will hit highs of 8C in the day and lows of 3C into the evening. Into Thursday, it will be cloudy again with outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the morning.

Heavy rain is set to arrive by midday, before it clears for sunshine and showers in the afternoon. It is remaining unsettled, with highs of 12C.

More wind is expected on Friday and into the weekend. But the changeable forecast stays with rain, showers and strong winds over the weekend.

The BBC outlook for over the weekend reads: "Friday will see strong winds along with variable cloud and scattered showers, although these will gradually ease in the afternoon. Overnight and into Saturday, a band of rain will move in, this clearing to showers for the remainder of the day.

"The showers, possibly wintry on the hills. Sunday may be very windy with a mix of bright spells and blustery showers. A colder day."
