Liverpool is set for scorching temperatures today, before heavy rain in the evening.
Forecasters from the Met Office predict temperatures will reach highs of 26C on Thursday, with sunshine lasting until around 4pm. After this it is set to go cloudy before rain is set to start at around 6pm.
This will change to "heavy rain" at around 9pm. The Met Office said: "It may be cloudy at times across the north during the morning, otherwise it will be a generally fine and sunny day. A few isolated showers or thunderstorms may develop late afternoon onwards. Very warm and feeling locally hot inland. Maximum temperature 29 °C.

"Tonight: Scattered locally heavy and thundery showers will spread from the south during the evening, giving some heavy downpours in places overnight before largely clearing by morning. Minimum temperature 12 °C."
The Met Office forecasts it will be turning cooler and cloudier, with showers then more persistent rain arriving later in the day. Sunshine and heavy showers are forecast over the weekend, possibly thundery in places.
Next week, the Met Office predicts showers with "longer spells of rain". The showers will be heavy and thundery in places and will be accompanied by brisk southwesterly winds.
