It wasn't the best weather over the Bank Holiday weekend, but warm weather could be coming to stay very soon.
The Met Office predicts Merseyside will be hit with some wet weather over the next few days but it's not all bad news. Temperatures are heating up and are expected to be higher or around average for this time of year.
Today, on Monday, May 2, Liverpool will have warm sunny spells but isolated showers will also develop. After a cloudy start with a little mist in places, cloud will lift and break with warm sunny spells developing into the afternoon.

The odd shower should be expected but temperatures could hit up to 16C. Into the evening and night, cloud cover will increase with mist and fog becoming possible. The lowest temperature through out the night should be 4C.
Tuesday will be another cloudy start with some sunny spells developing throughout the day. Again, there will be highs of 15C but a showery afternoon is on the cards.
The outlook from Thursday onwards is sunny spells with showers. Towards the end of the week it will begin to turn warmer, with some forecasters predicting it could be the start of a hot spring, with maybe even a heat wave on.
The Met Office reports: "A split is likely with northern areas likely to see the wettest weather with showers or longer spells of rain at times. In the south, a few showers are possible but it will be mostly dry here. Temperatures will likely be around average or slightly above for the time of year."
