Liverpool weather: Met Office updates Grand National forecast

Liverpool is set to be hit with wind and scattered showers today but the April showers will soon turn to sunshine.

Those hoping for a dry Grand National Festival are in luck, as most of the rain, an occasional heavy showers, are expected to fall today and early tomorrow. The Met Office forecast predicts on Wednesday, April 6, it will be a rather windy day with scattered showers moving in on a strong westerly wind.

April showers will be heavy at times, and hail might fall too, with the odd rumble of thunder on the forecast. However the temperature will remain warm, with highs of 12C.

Into the evening there will be more wind and longer spells of rain, with a minimum temperature of 3C into the night. On Thursday morning it will be a cold start, with strong winds and showery outbreaks of rain.

However, racegoers will be happy to know that winds will ease come midday, and so will the showers. Scattered showers will make way for sunny spells with highs of 9C.

It will stay cooler over the weekend, with highs of 8C and 9C predicted. However the risk of showers decreases. There will be plenty more sunny spells on Ladies Day and Grand National Saturday.
