The Merseyside region is expected to bask in warmer temperatures this weekend as spring really gets into its stride.
As previously reported, forecasters expect Liverpool to experience higher temperatures on Saturday and Sunday than parts of Spain. The mercury is set to rise to 17C here, while Madrid will see highs of 15C.
Today (Saturday), low cloud will give way to a mostly dry morning with bright spells. Cloud will bubble up producing a small risk of a shower around early afternoon, although a sunnier end to the day is likely. The warmest part of the weekend looks to be around 3pm today, with sunny skies and no rain expected.

Evening sunshine will be followed by a dry night across the region with clear spells. However, patches of low cloud are likely to return and it will remain breezy.
Tomorrow (Sunday) any low cloud will break to give plenty of dry weather with some sunshine. Temperatures will reach a maximum of 15C.
For the start of next week, Monday will see bright spells with the possibility of one or two showers on Monday. It will be mostly dry thereafter with further bright or sunny spells. Winds easing, but turning cooler with a patchy night frost.
