Liverpool Weather: When the cold snap is due to finish

The start of British Summer Time has coincided with a cold snap in the weather.

After last week's above average temperatures for the time of year - when temperatures soared to 20°C - flurries of snow were reported yesterday in Huyton, St Michael's and other areas in the region.

Today (Thursday) got off to a cold and frosty start, with the Met Office forecasting sunshine and showers, some wintry. It will feel cold in the brisk north-easterly wind, with a maximum temperature of 8°C.

Any showers will soon die out through the evening to leave a dry night with largely clear skies. It will turn cold and frosty overnight.

The pattern will be repeated tomorrow (Friday), with a cold and frosty start with sunny spells. A few showers could develop for the afternoon, with a maximum temperature of 9°C.

For the weekend, early showers on Saturday will clear to make way for a largely dry and bright afternoon. A frosty start Sunday then dry with bright spells. Cloud and rain pushing south Monday, becoming slightly less cold.
