Liverpool is set to be hit by torrential rain this evening and into tomorrow with the Met Office issuing a yellow weather warning.
There's forecast to be 16 hours of continuous rain, with a warning for rain set to come into force from midnight tonight until midnight on Thursday.
The weather warning said: "Heavy rainfall will likely lead to some minor transport disruption and flooding.
" Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely.
"Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer.
"Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer."
The rain is expected to arrive in Liverpool from around 8pm this evening and will continue throughout the night, before clearing away for a short while on Thursday afternoon.
The rain will then begin again on Thursday evening and continue into Friday morning.
The forecast for the entire North West region said: "This evening, mist and fog early then a spell of heavy rain is expected to spread in from the southwest. Through the night, the rain will become patchier. Mist and fog will also be associated.
"Tomorrow, rain at first in the morning but this will move away later to allow some sunny spells to develop. Rain will return towards the end of the day. Milder in moderate south-westerly winds.
"Friday will be rather windy with outbreaks of rain at first, but it should turn drier later.

"On Saturday a low-pressure system will bring outbreaks of rain, that could turn to snow over the hills, although the afternoon will be drier. Some uncertainty in this, however.
"Sunday will be cloudy and cold with wintry precipitation expected even possibly down to low levels."
