Merseyside could be hit with thunder today but the weather is expected to take a turn for the better.
The Met Office say "heavy, perhaps thundery rain at first" but don't believe the stormy weather will stick around.
Maximum temperature 20 °C.
The weather experts say thundery conditions "will slowly ease although skies will remain largely cloudy with further light rain until mid afternoon"and "thereafter, sunnier by the evening".
It is expected to be warm and humid they say.
Mostly dry in Liverpool overnight. Minimum temperature 12 °C.
Wednesday:
Low cloud will lift and thin to give a dry day with sunny spells and light winds. Warmer than on Tuesday. Maximum temperature 23 °C.
Later in the week it should be "largely dry and sunny" according to the Met Office.
