Liverpool weather forecast: Rain to batter Merseyside as temperatures remain cool

May bank holiday Monday was a far cry from the soaring temperatures Merseyside enjoyed back in April.

And unfortunately today the weather is only predicted to get worse with rain due to set in from lunchtime.

The Met Office predicts Merseyside will be hit with showers from around 1pm.

A spokesman for the forecaster said: "It will be a chilly start with showery rain in the north, while scattered, occasionally heavy, showers will return elsewhere through the morning.

"Maximum temperatures will reach 12 °C."

Once the rain begins at 1pm it is set to continue until around 8pm and it will remain cloudy for much of the day.

The outlook for the rest of the week also appears wet, with Wednesday predicted to be a washout.

The wet weather will be followed by potentially thundery showers on Wednesday and these showers will continue at times on Thursday and Friday, but also with some brighter spells.
