Liverpool will be hotter than Barcelona this week with the mercury rising until temperatures hit 20 C in the region.
The Met Office predicts the region will be basking in the sun for much of the week - with a bright and clear start to Monday.
Forecasters for the weather service said: "A ridge of high pressure will bring another settled day with plenty of fine, dry and sunny weather across the region, after a chilly start for some. It will feel warm in the sunshine with light winds. Maximum temperature 20 C."
Tuesday is set to be another warm and sunny day with good spells of sunshine and another maximum temperature of 20 C.
These sunny conditions and high temperatures mean Merseyside will be warmer than Barcelona this week - beating the Spanish city by just 1 C.
