The Met Office are warning of long spells of rain today an nto the night.
Sunny spells could be back on Merseyside tomorrow but scattered showers are also expected to make an unwanted return on Wednesday too.
The weather experts say: "Outbreaks of showery rain will spread northwards through the morning.
"The rain should turn heavier and more persistent during the afternoon when it will feel cooler than of late."
And the Met Office say we could see a maximum temperature of 17°C in Liverpool
Tonight
Rain will clear northward through the evening to leave scattered showers overnight.
The showers will become confined to northern parts by dawn on Wednesday. Light winds. Minimum temperature 9 °C.
A mixture of scattered showers and sunny spells should develop on Wednesday.
