Liverpool weather forecast: Four days of rain but some sunshine for the weekend

The Met Office are predicting FOUR days of rain including thundery showers on Merseyside.

The weather experts say Liverpool will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain today, possibly heavy at times.

The rain should become light and patchy during the afternoon.

Brighter spells developing further south, where it'll feel warm and humid.

Maximum temperature 21 °C.

And according to the Met Office the rain will continue most of the week.

The Met Office say tomorrow will see more "outbreaks of rain, perhaps heavy, continuing to move southeast first thing. Staying cloudy with further outbreaks of patchy rain across northern parts."

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday

Sunny spells and scattered heavy and possibly thundery showers on Thursday.

Further scattered showers on Friday. Drier with warm sunny spells on Saturday.

And heat from Africa could be about to send temperatures soaring in Merseyside later this month.

Mainland Europe sweltered in freakishly hot weather during June - and something similar could be heading our way according to forecasters.

A 400-mile-wide African plume of hot air means temperatures from late July into early August have a good chance of reaching the mid-30s, with 35C certainly possible.
