Liverpool weather forecast: Bank Holiday thunder is on the cards

We all love a Bank Holiday but you might not love the weather today with a real possibility of thunder.

Although there should be some sunny spells the Met Office say Liverpool and across Merseyside could also witness what they term "thundery downpours" this Bank Holiday .

A maxium temperature of 16° is the best Liverpool can hope for say the Met Office.

The Met Office predict: "Bank Holiday Monday starts on a bright note with some sunshine, but scattered showers will quickly develop during the morning.

"There may be some heavy and possibly thundery downpours this afternoon and it will feel cooler than at the weekend. Maximum temperature 16 °C."

What to do before, during and after a storm

And the rain is set to continue tonight.

The Met Office state: "Showers continue at first this evening, but they will ease towards midnight with many places becoming dry with clear spells during the small hours.

"Chilly in rural areas by morning. Minimum temperature 4 °C."

And as for tomorrow, well forecasters say it should be another bright day with sunny spells and scattered showers.
