Liverpool weather forecast as region to get blue skies and sunshine at last

Merseyside is set to see more sunshine over the next two days.

The weather has been indifferent over the last two weeks with occasional rain, cloud and cold spells .

But that is about to change with the Met Office predicting improved conditions over the next two days with plenty of sunshine and temperatures of around 16 degrees.

There might be some spots of cloud around on Monday but Tuesday could be the pick of the week when the crowds head for Formby beach and other attractions.

Unfortunately the spell is set to fade from Wednesday. There could be heavy downpours on Thursday with occasional bursts of sunshine.

Earlier this week, a swarm of flying ants was spotted on a weather radar and caused interference to the system.

A clod of ants spanning a whopping 50 metres wide was seen in Kent and Sussex.

The Met Office tweeted a video of the swarm and said: "It's not raining in London, Kent or Sussex, but our radar says otherwise.

"The radar is actually picking up a swarm of flying ants across the southeast."

Crosby Coastguard was warned drinkers on Merseyside to care when they are near water after drinking alcohol.

Drinkers are also being asked to look out for their friends while out and about and to behave responsibly if you have a drink.
