Liverpool weather forecast as Met Office say rain is on its way back

Cloudy weather and the risk of rain are set to return to Liverpool, according to Met Office weather forecasters.

After being treated to some much-needed sunshine this weekend and break from the rain we've been subjected to in recent weeks, it looked as though summer was making its return.

But sadly, the Met Office predicts cloudiness and risk of showers from tomorrow, Monday July 13.

As a breeze picks up overnight in exposed areas, showery rain will spread southeastwards through the early hours and will become widespread by dawn.

Light showers are expected until the afternoon, when the day will become cloudy.

Rain will be persistent throughout the morning before it is expected to ease from the north during the early afternoon.

Later, dry conditions will prevail with brighter spells possible.

But it will continue to feel breezy and cooler than Sunday.

Temperatures expected to reach highs of 17C and lows of 14C.

Rain showers and cloudy skies are expected throughout the rest of the week, though sunshine is expected to make a return at the weekend.
