Liverpool weather forecast as Met Office predicts cloudy but warm temperatures throughout the week

Liverpool is set for cloudy weather but temperatures will still remain warm throughout the week, according to forecasters.

The Met Office said the city is set for an overcast Sunday and Monday. Forecasters predict there will be sunny intervals at around 2pm today and temperatures will reach highs of 19C.

It will also feel "warm in the sunshine." The Met Office said: "Any morning mist and low cloud quickly clearing to leave a fine and dry day with plenty of sunny spells across the region. Feeling warm in the sunshine, with generally light winds."

The city is also predicted to stay "largely dry" tonight, but there may be some drizzle, forecasters said. On Monday, Liverpool will once again see cloud all day, however will remain warm with temperatures reaching around 17C.

The Met Office said: "A dry start for many, with the best of any morning sunshine in the south. Outbreaks of rain will then move slowly southwards during the afternoon and evening. Maximum temperature 18 °C."

Temperatures are also predicted to rise later this month, with a possible heatwave for people living in the south of England. Met Office meteorologist Marco Petagna said the weather could get “very warm” later this month, peaking around 22C or 23C in the south of England.

He said: “Temperatures are several degrees above where they should be at this time of year." He added there was a “small chance” that temperatures could rise into the mid-20s, meaning a “brief” heatwave.

Looking at mid-May the Met Office states: "Dry weather is likely for most throughout much of this period, bringing variable cloud and sunny spells to most areas. Northern regions are more likely to see a scattering of showers at the start, interspersed by bands of more persistent or heavier rain at times.

"Winds should be generally light to moderate, and coastal areas may also experience periods of low cloud or fog. The settled weather will continue, widespread through the second half of the period, with any rain confined to western and northern areas."
