Liverpool weather cooler as wet and windy conditions continue

A band of heavy rain pushes north and east across the country this week, meaning Merseyside will be hit with showers and strong winds.

The Met Office reports that temperatures will also continue to drop through this week back towards the average for the time of year. But with the strong winds and rain, it will feel much cooler than the unseasonably mild conditions seen in recent days.

After an unsettled start to the week, the trend will continue on Wednesday, November 16. It will start mostly dry and bright but turn wet and windy into the afternoon. With highs of just 10C.

On Thursday further bands of rain will affect all parts of the region, with some very heavy. It will be rather windy too, with temperatures around normal for mid November.

Forecasters say it will be cloudy and breezy on Friday, with further showers. And dry and bright on Saturday after a chilly start with a rural frost. Wind and rain will be returning for Sunday.

Met Office Chief Meteorologist Frank Saunders said: "A succession of weather fronts and low-pressure will see wet and windy weather dominate the UK this week.

"Some of these bands of rain will be heavy and may bring some impacts to travel and possible flooding in places. A number of National Severe Weather warnings are in place, so stay up to date with the latest weather warnings in your area."
