Merseyside is set to be hit with torrential downpours today.
The Met Office has issued a flood alert across the North West, warning "heavy rain, strong winds and flooding possible in places".
Today's forecast for the region is a gloomy one as the weather is predicted to be dominated by showers.

The full prediction for the North West reads: "Heavy rain during the morning and a continued risk of flooding in some northern areas, particularly Cumbria.
Rain erratically edging south-eastwards during the day. Windy at first but staying mild. Maximum temperature 15 °C."
The Met Office's hour-by-hour forecast for Liverpool makes for similarly grim reading as conditions are set to remain wet for the majority of the day.
It's set to be a showery start to the day with a 40% chance of light showers at 7am.
A brief reprieve in the rain is predicted from 9am - 12pm as dry and cloudy conditions are forecasted.
However, there is a 40% chance of light showers from 12pm - and it is predicted to remain wet for the rest of Thursday.
The light shower will worsen to an 80% chance of heavy rain from 3pm and this is forecasted to stay until 11pm when there is a 50% chance of light rain. The heavy rain is predicted to stay on throughout the night into Friday morning.
