Liverpool weather: Another cool day in store for Merseyside

This week has been a cool week following a warmer than average March, with today set to remain chilly.

Cooler and unsettled weather is continuing over the weekend with showers threatening to disrupt the region. Cloud should start to clear towards lunchtime with a mixture of sunshine and showers throughout the area.

Some showers may be wintry as temperatures reach a maximum of 9C, although it may only feel like 5 or 6C. Liverpool will see sunny spells in the afternoon and heading into the evening before night sets in.

Overnight temperatures could drop to as low as -3C with the possibility of frost on Sunday morning. Throughout the night gentle winds will allow for widespread fog and local fog patches to form.

Sunday morning will see a clear start, leaving most places with a dry and bright day. Some clouds may bubble throughout the day with the occasional isolated shower in the area. Tomorrow will be a warmer day, with maximum temperatures expected to hit 10C.

Going into the beginning of next week, the weather will be more unsettled during this period. There are expected to be outbreaks of rain and will be fairly windy at times. Despite the unsettled weather, it will be milder overall and frost-free for the majority.
