Liverpool vs Watford: Premier League 2019/20 prediction, tickets, team news, TV live stream, H2H, odds preview

It is top against bottom in the Premier League this afternoon as Liverpool host Watford at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds lead Leicester City in the title race by eight points after 16 games, and it looks like it will take something special - or disastrous, in Liverpool's case - to see them denied a first League title since 1989.

As for Watford, the Hornets are already on their third manager of the season with Nigel Pearson in charge following the sackings of both Javi Gracia and Quique Sanchez Flores (again).

Watford are six points adrift at the foot of the table, and having scored just nine League goals this season - the least in the top flight by a long way - it could be a long afternoon on Merseyside.

Premier League preview

Liverpool vs Watford
Venue:
Anfield
Date: Saturday, 12 December, 2019
Kick-off time: 12:30pm GMT

Prediction

Liverpool 3-0 Watford: Put simply, the Hornets have been terrible in attack and only slightly less awful in defence this term.

In reality, Klopp will likely be able to rest a few key players and still achieve a comfortable win - but if this season has shown anything, it is to not write off a team, no matter what their current predicament is.

Team news

Dejan Lovren is a doubt with a thigh injury, and is unlikely to be risked. With Joel Matip also out, Joe Gomez could continue at centre-back.

Adam Lallana is in with a chance of returning from injury, but Nathaniel Clyne (knee) is definitely out.

As for Watford, Danny Welbeck (thigh), Tom Cleverley (calf), Sebastian Prodl (knee) and Jose Holebas (ankle) are out as it stands. Carig Cathcart could return after a cut to the head, but Daryl Janmaat (knee) is a doubt.

Predicted line-ups

Liverpool XI: Alisson; Milner, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Keita, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Salah, Origi, Mane

Watford XI: Foster Femenia, Kasabele, Cathcart, Masina; Doucoure, Capoue; Sarr, Pereyra, Deulofeu; Deeney
