Liverpool vs Porto: Match Preview, How to Watch Champions League Online, TV Channel, Live Stream, Start Time

The UEFA Champions League quarterfinals begin this week with four fantastic matchups, and two of them take place on Tuesday. At Anfield, one of the competition’s favorites, Liverpool, face FC Porto in the first leg. And although the Portuguese are huge underdogs, they have embraced that role and are hoping to shock the world against one of the best teams in Europe.

Champions League Quarterfinals

Liverpool vs. Porto

It is impossible not to see Liverpool as massive favorites here. They have the best players, they’ve tested themselves all season in a tougher league, and they just knocked out Bayern Munich with a wonderful performance in Germany in the Round of 16.

Jurgen Klopp won’t say it to anyone, but he’s really hoping for a huge win that almost guarantees a place in the semifinal. Liverpool really wants to win the Premier League, and if he’s able to rest his main players in the second leg, Klopp may gain an advantage over Manchester City who has to deal with a tricky Tottenham side on the same day.

If Liverpool is at all caught up in thinking about winning the tie in the first leg, that’s where Porto may spoil the party. This is an extremely well-coached team with talented players all over the pitch, and Moussa Marega has scored in six straight Champions League games this season. Porto got a good result in the first leg against Roma in the Round of 16 away from home, which they used to their advantage to win the tie on penalties. If they keep Liverpool from scoring more than two goals and get an away goal themselves, things might get really interesting.

This will no doubt be a tougher Champions League matchup than most people expect, and there might be a shock in the cards. It’s a must-see European game.
