Liverpool vs Newcastle United: Lee Ryder's weekend prediction for big clash at Anfield

Newcastle United have the huge task of trying to end 25 years of hurt in the Premier League at Anfield.

Not since Rob Lee and Andy Cole found the net in 1994 have United fans departed Liverpool with the joy of seeing their team collect three points.

Is that realistically going to change on Saturday? The bookies certainly can't see it and most pundits have already written off the Magpies.

Odds of 18/1 with William Hill are understandable too.

Lee Ryder's prediction

The forecast doesn't look great for Newcastle does it?

But the question is whether Steve Bruce's side can turn up and produce a similar performance to the one that shocked everybody at Spurs last month.

If they can pull something like that out of the bag they are in with a slight chance at Anfield.

However, they are banking on Liverpool having an off day and the Reds feeling the effects of the international break.

Dare we be positive and expect Newcastle to snatch a point?

It's a long shot but as Bruce pointed out in his Press conference it's not impossible - and of course, records are there to be broken.

A point would be a fantastic result - although even at 7/1 for the draw I don't think many will take a punt.
