Welcome to the Evening Standard's LIVE coverage of today's FA Community Shield clash between Liverpool and Manchester City at Wembley Stadium.
Man City secured a 5-4 penalty shootout victory after a thrilling 1-1 draw in normal time. Raheem Sterling bundled home from inside the six-yard box after just 12 minutes as the Premier League champions looked rampant.
But Liverpool soon settled after a nervy start and came out after the interval with all guns blazing, making substitutions to keep things fresh.
Jurgen Klopp soon got his reward when Virgil van Dijk volleyed into a cross from the far post and found substitute Joel Matip, who nodded past Claudio Bravo with just 13 minutes remaining.
Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk were both denied by the woodwork, before a stoppage-time goal-line clearance from Kyle Walker to deny Salah forced a penalty shootout.
Follow all the reaction with James Robson, David Lynch and James Olley at Wembley.
