Sadio Mane is likely to be Liverpool’s only major absentee when they take on Manchester City for the Community Shield on Sunday.
But Jurgen Klopp faces a tough decision over whether to use a number of recently returned stars from the off at Wembley Stadium.
Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Alisson Becker picked up their first minutes since returning from summer international duty as the Reds earned a friendly win over Lyon on Wednesday.
Xherdan Shaqiri and Naby Keita also featured in Geneva after recovering from calf and adductor injuries respectively.
However, Klopp has insisted he won’t rush any players back into the starting line-up for this weekend’s season curtain-raiser.
“We cannot risk any players,” the German told reporters.
“We have to see who will be able to line-up and who will train and who will play.”
Mane is guaranteed to miss out having been given an extended break after helping Senegal to the Africa Cup of Nations final.
Nathaniel Clyne is also unavailable after undergoing surgery on an anterior cruciate ligament tear sustained during the club’s tour of the United States.
But Klopp should otherwise have a fully fit squad of senior players to pick from in the capital.
The wealth of options available to the Reds boss was underlined by his decision to send a number of young players back from this week’s training camp in Evian.
Sepp van den Berg, Ki-Jana Hoever, Yasser Larouci, Adam Lewis and Bobby Duncan saw their chances of Community Shield involvement ended as they returned to Merseyside early.
However, summer signing Harvey Elliott, 16, was retained after impressing in his early pre-season cameos.
