Liverpool vs Huddersfield Live Stream, Lineups, How to Watch Premier League online, US TV Channel, Start Time

Liverpool find themselves one point adrift of Manchester City as they near kickoff in a crucial match against Huddersfield. The reigning champions bested their cross-town rivals, and the Reds will have to do the same, but against a much lower quality opponent. At this point, Huddersfield are officially relegated, and the best they can strive for is the role of spoiler.

The Citizens look nailed on to clinch successive English titles after a 2-0 derby victory at Manchester United on Wednesday saw them overcome their last big test of the league campaign. Much to Liverpool’s dismay, Pep Guardiola’s side are now one point ahead and have three fairly routine fixtures left in Burnley (away), Leicester City (home) and Brighton & Hove Albion (away).

It won’t affect Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the visit of Huddersfield much, though. Since returning to England’s first tier in 2017, the Terriers have lost three times to Liverpool by an aggregate scoreline of 7-0.  Merseysiders the world over were disappointed to see City triumph over United at Old Trafford in midweek, though Klopp said on Thursday he wasn’t surprised by the outcome:

“It was really the result I expected. Manchester United tried whatever they can but over 90 minutes it was clear they couldn’t withstand City. I was calm.”

Liverpool is boosted by a relatively clean bill of health that sees midfielder Fabinho as their only fresh doubt after he had to come off early with a head injury in Sunday’s 2-0 win at Cardiff City.

Huddersfield have lost their last seven matches in succession and have taken just six points away from home in the Premier League this term. Only Fulham (five) have won fewer home points.

The Reds, on the other hand, are undefeated in 18 matches and have won their last nine in succession. Not to mention the fact they’re yet to lose at home in the league this season and have dropped points just twice in 17 Anfield outings.

An astonishing 74 points separate these two teams with only a handful of weeks remaining in their seasons. However, Huddersfield may relish a chance at one more mighty upset before they make their return to the Championship next season.
