Liverpool 2-0 Fulham
Premier League 2018-19
Goals by Mohamed Salah and Xherdan Shaqiri took Liverpool from third place to the top of the Premier League for a couple of hours at least with a 2-0 victory over bottom club Fulham at Anfield.
Aleksandar Mitrovic headed in from Tom Cairney's cross only to be adjudged offside, and while the visitors were protesting the decision, Alisson Becker took a quick free-kick and the ball found its way to Salah down the right.
Within seconds the Liverpool forward was through on goal and slotted calmly under Sergio Rico for his sixth league goal of the campaign.
A quick corner found its way to Andy Robertson and the Scotland captain swung in a deep cross to Shaqiri at the back post, and the forward made no mistake with a well-taken finish to make it 2-0.
Once the two-goal lead was established, there was no way back into the game for Fulham and the game petered out tamely.
The three points sent Jurgen Klopp's side of the Premier League, with Manchester City to play Manchester United later on Sunday.
