Liverpool vs Chelsea, Premier League preview: Prediction, kick-off time, TV, live stream, h2h, team news, latest odds

Chelsea still have work to do to secure a top-four finish as they bid to spoil Liverpool's Premier League title party at Anfield on Wednesday.

Frank Lampard's Blues sit third in the table, one point above Leicester City (fourth) and Manchester United (fifth) - and while a victory will seal Champions League football, two huge tests await.

First up for Chelsea is a visit to Anfield, where Liverpool will be lifting their long-awaited Premier League trophy with a glitzy post-match presentation on the Kop - and Jurgen Klopp will not want to taste defeat beforehand.

With Leicester and United facing each other on the final day, Chelsea are well placed to finish in the top four - especially after an FA Cup semi-final win over the Red Devils - but a poor result at Anfield could set them back before their final-day clash with Wolves.

Date, time and venue

Liverpool vs Chelsea is scheduled for an 8:15pm BST kick-off on Wednesday, July 22.

The match will be behind closed doors at Anfield with no fans due to be present due to government guidelines regarding coronavirus.

How to watch

TV channel: Liverpool vs Chelsea will be shown live on Sky Sports' Premier League and Main Event channels and is available via Now TV with a day pass for £9.99, or a three-month pass on offer for £25.

Live stream: Sky Sports subscribers can stream the match online via SkyGo and the SkyGo app, with a mobile month pass available for £5.99.

Team news

James Milner is on the comeback trail for Liverpool, though Joel Matip and Jordan Henderson are definitely out.

N'Golo Kante missed Chelsea's cup win over Man United and is at most only likely to be a substitute if he returns here.

Billy Gilmour is out for the season, while Olivier Giroud should keep his starting role after another big performance at Wembley.

Prediction: Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea

While a defeat will not be terminal for Chelsea's top-four hopes, a win will secure it. Still, that is easier said than done against this Liverpool side.

Arsenal showed last week that the Reds can be beaten with a good gameplan, but that defeat could in turn provoke a response from Klopp's team - and Chelsea will do well to escape Anfield with anything other than a defeat.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

Liverpool just edge this Premier League fixture with 21 wins from 55 meetings to Chelsea's 20, along with 14 draws.

The last time these two sides met in the League, Liverpool won 2-1 at Stamford Bridge in September - and Chelsea's last visit to Anfield ended in a 2-0 defeat for the Blues.

However, Chelsea did beat Liverpool 2-0 in the FA Cup at the Bridge in March.
