Liverpool vs Chelsea LIVE result: Mohamed Salah wonder goal silences Blues to keep Reds in title track

Liverpool exorcised the ghosts of 2014 with a 2-0 victory over Chelsea to keep their Premier League title charge on track.

Sadio Mane's header early in the second half was followed moments later by a goal-of-the-season contender from Mohamed Salah and, after two uncharacteristic misses by Eden Hazard, the Reds regained the top spot they had lost 90 minutes earlier to Manchester City.

Salah's goal was worthy of winning a title let alone a game, but for now Liverpool will settle for the latter. A two-point lead over City, winners at Crystal Palace, was restored and proved Jurgen Klopp's previous assertion that no-one is getting rid of his side in this most enthralling of races. Re-live the live action below:

Welcome along to our live coverage of Liverpool vs Chelsea, as the title race reaches a critical moment. We will have all the team news and buildup to the game right here. In the meantime, here is a brilliant piece by our chief football writer Miguel Delaney (though it brings back a few painful memories for Liverpool fans) on the inside story of this infamous fixture five years ago.

One of football's great anthems.
Mo Salah was playing in blue during that famous clash five years ago, how times have changed...

The players are now lining up in the centre-circle ahead of a minute's silence in memory of the 96 people who died at Hillsborough in 1989, with mosaics of '30 years' in the Sir Kenny Dalglish stand, and '96' in the Kop.
The minute silence impeccably observed, by both sets of fans.
